Thank you for enlightening us about the Prambanan temple complex. We had really wanted to add on a sidetrip to visit Borobudur when we were in Bali last year – but that just didn’t work out. Now we have 2 reasons to return to Indonesia http://mywonderasia.com/2017/03/06/prambanan-temple-compounds/

The temple compound, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest Hindu temple site in Indonesia, and one of the biggest in Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its tall and pointed architecture.

Having seen Borobudur temple's night look couple of times, last week I was standing out right there to rejoice how admiring the 9th-century Hindu temple also known as Candi Rara Jonggrang is.

Get the combined ticket for Borobudur and Prambanan. Sunset was good but I think sunrise might be a little better here. Check out the other temples on the compound. Less crowded and more info on it

Several temples are currently being rebuilt but the main temples are complete and impressive. SUNSET is not the big deal as it goes down behind many trees. Last of the temples is as great as quiet
